The NDSA has released the results of the 2025 Staffing Survey, the fourth in its longitudinal study of digital preservation staffing and skills.

The survey finds continued progress in policy, infrastructure, and assessment, alongside a highly capable and committed workforce. At the same time, insufficient staffing remains a significant barrier, with many practitioners balancing digital preservation responsibilities alongside other duties.

The findings underscore the need for greater investment in staffing, infrastructure, training, and organizational support to sustain digital preservation programs.
