Announcing the New NDSA Coordinating Committee Members for 2027-2029
NDSA’s Coordinating Committee (CC) is pleased to announce that our three newly elected members for the 2027-2029 term are:
Palash Bosgang
Kathryn Michaelis
Este Pope
Members of the NDSA Coordinating Committee serve staggered terms. We thank our outgoing Coordinating Committee members, Michael Barera, Chelsea Denault, and Jessica Venlet, for their contributions and service to NDSA. We are also grateful to the very talented, qualified individuals who were nominated or stood on the ballot in this election.
To sustain a vibrant, robust community of practice, we rely on and deeply value the contributions of all members, including all member organizations who took part in voting.
Best wishes to all as we welcome Palash, Kathryn, and Este to their new roles within NDSA!
Our New Members
Palash Bosgang is the Digital Preservation Manager at Bard College, Stevenson Library. Actively engaged in the community, they serve on the SAA Preservation Section Steering Committee as well as the NDSA Membership Working Group and newly formed NDSA Events Steering Committee. As a regional collaborator, Palash worked closely with the Southeastern New York Library Resources Council (SENYLRC) Digital Dark Archive Service to implement and adapt the Digital Archivist Resource Tool (DART), helping to make digital preservation efforts more approachable for small-to-medium GLAM organizations in the Hudson Valley. They are eager to bring the perspective of solo practitioners and under-resourced shops to the Coordinating Committee during this pivotal transition to a NISO-affiliated Board of Trustees.
Kathryn Michaelis is the Digital Preservation Program Manager for Emory University Libraries, where she oversees digital preservation efforts across Emory’s multiple libraries and divisions. She holds an MSLS from UNC-Chapel Hill and previously worked for Georgia State University and the University of Mississippi. Kathryn has been an active member of NDSA since 2019 and has served on NDSA committees including the Communications and Publications Working Group, the Events Strategy Working Group, and the Fixity Working Group. Most recently, she served as co-chair of DigiPres 2026. Kathryn has 15 years of experience in various aspects of digital stewardship, including digitization, preservation, metadata creation, and digital archives.
Este Pope is an academic librarian and technologist with experience working at the intersection of libraries, archives, museums, and digital initiatives in a wide range of institutional settings. She is deeply involved in digital preservation in her current role, leading the library IT team at Dartmouth, where she participates in emerging digital lifecycle efforts, contributes to planning for digital preservation workflows, and oversees digital preservation infrastructure and systems. She coordinates closely with colleagues in collections, metadata, archives, and records management, and appreciates the complexity of digital preservation work and the critical role of staff expertise and collaboration. Este especially values professional experiences that have enabled her to connect with colleagues on a broader scale, particularly with NDSA, DLF, Fedora, and Islandora, and welcomes the opportunity to contribute more significantly to NDSA. She also feels that her research interests in educational leadership and organizational development, especially her dissertation study on technology planning and systems thinking, would benefit her involvement.
